Eric Brown Interior Design Photo shoot, Charleston SC

We've recently had the pleasure of working together with Eric Brown Design on a brand new ad campaign. The campaign will span the whole year and be printed in a double page spread shown in the new TOWN magazine for Greenville, SC. The ideas were a collaboration of our two studios, and relied on the of the knowledge of both of us to pull it together in a Cohesive manner.

This first ad we nicknamed "explorer" shows a boy staring up at an armillary, daydreaming as all little boys do. The overarching goal in each ad is to show interaction within a well designed spaced, giving a personal feel with a slight fantastical element.

To see more insights into Eric's thoughts the how he was inspired for the project, please visit his blog at www.bespokebloke.com

wishing you well,

Vantage Point Commercial Shoot, Milledgeville GA

Learn How We Create & Edit!
For this project, we were asked to take architectural shots of a building and apply a stormy scene around it, as if we shot it during the storm itself. The challenge with a project like this is realism. It's fairly easy to put in a fake sky, but there is a lot we take for granted when looking at a scene that is automatically filled in by natural light. The key to compositing is seeing these things through your artists eye, so that your intended viewer accepts it as "real".

In my mind, "real" has latitude. For instance, you have "true realism" and stylized realism. I would say this example would fall under stylized realism. It's not that you the audience doesn't know the scene was enhance, but rather the elements themselves don't distract from the overall whole of the scene and the mood projected.

The beginning example shows the initial shot of the building we took on a foggy day. The next several scenes show the sky (which we shot earlier) and the refinded detail observed when inserting it around objects.

The next scene shows the lighting we hand-created and inserted into the scene. (Closeups are shown to help you see the detail and subtle transitions we created as the lighting interacted with the clouds and building.

The final image shows the rain we created to add an an element oaf wetness to the scene.

New Fall Schedule Coming Soon!
If you want to learn how we do this, along with masking techniques, color, toning, and body/object warping, look for our upcoming classes for our Advanced Photoshop techniques.

wishing you well,
-TJ
