alex & holly: a new connection (partial)

I wouldn't be my best without my wife. Michelle is different in more ways to myself than I have room to list in this short post. But I will tell you, I know she helps make me who I am today and who I hope to be tomorrow.

No matter what the reason is we get married, somewhere along the path of life, we find a connection, a drawing of the opposite, that gives us new perspective, and tests our current mindset; encouraging us to change and morph into something beyond our current self!

I'm not going to lie, It hurts to change; to become someone better than the mediocre being we're used to being before being tested in whatever fire burns off the dross in our current self. And though it hurts, part of us wants it, and that is the part we hold onto while the change is happening.

In many ways we even asked for it, when we chose to connect to another being; a new personality. I have found so much change in my own life come through my relationship with Michelle. Married ten years now, and realizing my path to a better self, a more selfless self, has just begun.

The joy of being a father, a lover, a friend and husband all provide opportunities of amazing joy, and within each of those experiences, are a chance to become more aware of life outside of myself.

The connection with Michelle that has happened over the last decade is not a solitary occurrence, but rather, an occurrence which happens to each of us, when connecting with another human through life's journey.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Michelle and I had the opportunity to photograph the growing connection between Alex and Holly. And one thing that hits me after shooting each couple, is the fact that you can't fake love. It's in the eyes, the subtle movement between the two lives who are drawn to one another, and who wish to be nowhere else but with each other.

Alex and Holly, thank you for being you and for allowing us to capture, in our creative way, the love you each share for one another.
